Call Me Up on Pies

about

You might have listened to a part of this song on Instagram. Because out of all the songs in the album this one is the oldest one. I started this year with this song and its appropriate that I’m ending it with it.
The song is about both acknowledging that time is blindingly dark but also that nothing stays the same. So the future has both darkness and light in it.
Whatever you do you just can't control how it is going to roll. The best thing you can do is to become your best version. And when the pie is ready someone will let you know. Do what you need to do and stop obsessing over things that you have no control over.
It may seem stupid at first but everything you go through becomes part of a puzzle that is life. So they all have value, either you like it or not. Time will fly but eventually, it will rise!
It was one of my favorite songs to make. Its the only song in the album that I used something else other than electro as the main instrument. And I feel like its such a bittersweet song that embraces that dichotomy within ourselves and our lives.
As for our character, she just made that realization so it was time she comes to peace with her time and her surroundings. From now on she will not steal the crowns of others’. With this song, she finds peace in terms of accepting that she has no control over everything in her life.
But she still has one last step to take in order to be her very best. That very last step is tomorrow! Then comes the album for you to match this story with. 💛
If you read this far I'm giving you a part of this song! 💜

lyrics

Understand why
She's on the road to fight
She could fool the pressure of days
And all the other country tastes

She is in disguise
To not be known by them on the road
Maybe we could turn the lights down
To roll another dice on her dawn

Time only flies, so
Call me up on pies
Time will only rise
Call me up on pies

Fold them
Fold them like the back of my hand
They're bleeding through my nose again
Define your hurts and feel the misty and all the roses
Bloom

They could be the one wings whispering in her ear
Tell me is it true you hide all your layers

As if you hadn't longed for a place to call your own
As if you hadn't longed for a time that's rolling on
As if you're getting on and time is running on
Time is running on
Time is running on
Time is running on
Whatever

Whispers in my ears
She could redefine
The labels they put to lie
Now she can shine all bright
Step ahead from the camouflage

You see, time will only rise
So call me up on pies
You see, time will only rise
So call me up on pies
You see, time will only rise rise
So call me up on pies
